May 29, 2020 - For 24 years, the Kinette Club of Bobcaygeon has been performing good deeds for good causes. As part of the club’s mission to serve the community’s greatest needs, it has been a loyal supporter of the Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation, funding medical equipment and priority projects impacting patient care for a generation.

While the club can’t hold its annual June meeting to present its donations to local causes due to restrictions on gatherings, that isn’t stopping members from making an impact.

The club has made a $1,000 donation to the Heroes at Heart appeal funding urgent COVID-related needs at Ross Memorial Hospital as well as replacing the hospital’s fleet of ECG (electrocardiography) machines.

“This year, we decided to provide our donations earlier and focus on the importance of PPE (personal protective equipment) during the pandemic,” said Shirley Grills, vice president of the Kinette Club of Bobcaygeon.

“The Kinette Club of Bobcaygeon is a shining example of what community-minded people can accomplish when they work together,” said Erin Coons, RMH Foundation CEO. “For 24 years, their members have put their hearts into events and projects that benefit everyone —young and old. We’re so grateful to have their support, especially now when it’s needed more than ever.”

Together with Dr. Jeremy Jones, the RMH Foundation has mailed letters throughout the City of Kawartha Lakes, seeking support for the Heroes at Heart appeal. For more information or to make a donation, visit www.rmh.org/foundation.
