June 19, 2017 - For more than a century, Women’s Institutes have impacted their local communities through their involvement in efforts to improve health and safety. Here in the City of
Kawartha Lakes, that commitment to care has included support for the Ross Memorial Hospital.

Today, members of the Victoria West District Women’s Institute visited RMH to show their support for the ‘Exceptional Care in the Kawarthas’ Spring Appeal, which is raising funds to purchase new vital signs monitors for the critical care program. District WI President Mary Jane Connell, Secretary Sharon DeBeau, Public Relations Officer Marilyn Graves and Treasurer Beryl Connell presented a cheque for $300 to RMH Foundation Executive Director Erin Coons.

“The local Women’s Institutes have been loyal supporters of the Ross Memorial since the Hospital was built in 1902. Their tradition of caring and their commitment to healthy communities has never wavered, and their impact on patient care is felt through every department,” said Erin Coons. “We couldn’t provide Exceptional Care in the Kawarthas without them.”

The Victoria West District Women’s Institute is comprised of the North Emily and Lorneville/Argyle branches of the WI. There are 45 members in total.
