BMO knew MRI was a good investment in the health of the community

Cari Tracey, Branch Manager of BMO in Lindsay, is thrilled her team has helped to improve local patients’ access to the best diagnostic imaging technology.

Four years ago, BMO made a 5 year pledge of $60,000 to the Imagine the Future capital campaign to support the purchase of an MRI and CT scanner for the Ross Memorial Hospital.

On January 27th, Tracey presented the fourth installment of $12,000 to Erin Coons, Executive Director of the RMH Foundation.

“This has been a solid investment in the community,” Tracey said. “We still hear stories from our clients, our families and our friends — people who have needed an MRI to help diagnose their health problems and who were so pleased they could have one right here in Lindsay. We’re proud that our involvement made a difference.”

The acquisition of an MRI and 128-slice CT scanner has significantly enhanced the hospital’s diagnostic capabilities and has made it possible to offer patients new services, such as MRI mammography and Cardiac CT Angiography.

This technology was also a key component of the affiliation of the Ross with Cancer Care Ontario as a Breast Assessment Centre, resulting in improved timeliness in diagnosis of breast abnormalities, earlier treatment for patients with breast cancer and improved follow up care with the help of a Breast Health Navigator. The hospital has been designated by Cancer Care Ontario as a High Risk Breast Screening Program, which promotes a comprehensive breast care program for patients whose family history or genetics put them at a higher risk for developing breast cancer.
