Businessman's golf tournament helping RMH programs that helped him

Andrew King is so grateful for the care he received following his heart attack and open heart surgery two years ago, he wants other patients to feel as fortunate.

His fundraising golf tournament on June 15th will help a great deal. The Kawartha Lakes Lift and Truck Inc. golf tournament raised $3,168.79 for the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Diabetes Education programs at Ross Memorial.

Following Andrew’s health scare, he benefitted from both programs, which are part of the hospital’s Health First chronic disease prevention and management program. He credits the program staff that helped him to regain his health and taught him how to stay healthy.

Forty-eight clients and friends participated in the golf tournament on Monday, June 15th at the Lindsay Golf and Country Club.

“The funds raised through Andrew’s golf tournament will help buy exercise equipment and education materials for the cardiac rehabilitation and diabetes programs. That means thousands of people will benefit from the golfers’ generosity,” said Erin Coons, RMH Foundation Executive Director. “It’s amazing how one person’s gratitude can create a ripple effect that impacts so many others.”
