Scotiabank continues to give back with support for MRI services at RMH

The addition of MRI service began a new era of care at Ross Memorial Hospital when it went live in January 2011.

On May 26th, patients’ injuries and illnesses are diagnosed faster and better. 5500 MRI images are done annually and the Diagnostic Imaging department is running regular evening shifts to keep patient wait times as short as possible. 

It took an entire community effort to make it happen.

The Imagine the Future campaign raised $5.8 million to purchase the new MRI, a 128-slice CT scanner and redevelop the hospital’s diagnostic imaging department.

Scotiabank was an important part of that fundraising effort. Scotiabank committed to a 5 year pledge totaling $50,000 to contribute to local healthcare.

Today, Branch Manager Greg Clements and Customer Services Manager Diane Bosnell presented Scotiabank’s second pledge payment of $10,000 to Erin Coons of the RMH Foundation.

“MRI service has transformed care at the Ross,” said Coons. “Everyday, our physicians rely on the enhanced images provided through the MRI and the new CT scanner. The Scotiabank team can be proud of the role it’s playing to keep our community healthy. Individually, we could never afford leading edge technology such as MRI, but together, we make it happen.”
